Mental Health Professional

McLean Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries and identifying patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis.
- Utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations and participate in planning and implementation of patient groups.
- Conduct active milieu assessments while assigned to checks, particularly attuned to safety concerns and assist patients in their activities of daily living.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in collaboration with others.
- No experience required; one year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
