Mental Health Professional

McLean Hospital is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient records, progress notes, and observation sheets.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries.
- Identify patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations and utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate.
- Participate in planning and implementation of patient groups.
- Conduct active milieu assessments while assigned to checks, particularly attuned to safety concerns.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in collaboration with others.
- No experience required, but one year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
