Security Operations Manager for High-Rise Commercial Complex

About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day security operations at our high-rise commercial complex in downtown Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement coaching strategies to drive engagement among security personnel.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with lead hands to discuss performance, address concerns, and set goals.
  • Collaborate with the manager to adopt new technologies that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate property team's compliance gaps and ensure timely execution of corrective actions.
  • Maintain fire safety building compliance and conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Supervise all aspects of security department operations, including uniformity, deportment, and report writing.
  • Handle sensitive situations professionally and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with security systems, equipment, and techniques to inform staffing decisions and training needs.
  • Investigate tenant complaints, thefts, and suspicious activities promptly and provide feedback to relevant parties.
  • Mediate staff conflicts, provide evaluations, and make recommendations for growth opportunities.
  • Liaise with tenants to resolve issues and provide advice on loss control and security matters.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have experience, technical, and interpersonal skills equivalent to those of a Security Supervisor.
  • A community college diploma or equivalent business management qualification in security/life safety, risk management, or criminology is preferred.
  • Three years of commercial real estate security experience, with increasing responsibility.
  • One year of supervisory experience in a similar environment or equivalent work experience.
  • A valid Ontario Security Guard License, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification, and Covid-19 vaccination are mandatory.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal legislation are required.
