Job Summary

Procor Limited is seeking a skilled Railcar Repair Technician/Welder to join our team at our repair facility in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to railcar repair and maintenance, including cutting and welding, air arc gouging, and preparing documentation for completion of railcar repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform railcar repairs involving cutting and welding on the rail body, including tank and/or hopper, and other car components
  • Conduct air arc gouging and other necessary repairs to hopper, tank railcars, and their components
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for completion of railcar repairs in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Perform inbound rail car inspections as required
  • Read, comprehend, and follow repair orders and procedures
Requirements
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong mechanical background with competent and safe use of hand tools and power equipment
  • Ability to read and understand written work orders, material safety data sheets, and other paper and computer work
  • Prior railcar repair experience or similar, and knowledge of AAR standards an asset
  • Ability to work in an environment with continuous exposure to outdoor weather conditions with dust, fumes, and noise
  • Ability to climb, stoop, and bend repeatedly, carry hand and power tools
