Job Summary:

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on railcars, including cutting and welding, air arc gouging, and preparing documentation for completion of repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on railcars, including cutting and welding, air arc gouging, and preparing documentation for completion of repairs.
  • Inspect railcars for damage and defects, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Read, comprehend, and follow repair orders and procedures.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete repairs and meet deadlines.
  • Perform quality control checks and adhere to company and regulatory quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Strong mechanical background with competent and safe use of hand tools and power equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand written work orders, material safety data sheets, and complete work write-ups.
  • Prior railcar repair experience or similar, and knowledge of AAR standards an asset.
  • Ability to work in an environment with continuous exposure to outdoor weather conditions with dust, fumes, and noise.
  • Valid driver's license required and reliable transportation to get to and from work.
