We are seeking a skilled Chief Financial Officer to join our team at Avens – A Community for Seniors, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to seniors living in the north.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management. They will work closely with the President and CEO to develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization's mission and goals.

About the Role:

  • Budgeting and Financial Reporting: Develop and manage budgets, prepare financial reports, and provide analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow, manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payments.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and implement financial plans and strategies that align with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including financial reporting and taxation requirements.

About You:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record of success in budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
