Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Fresh N Good Associate at our Parallel Food Store in Abbotsford, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of a wide variety of products for our Gas Bar Food Program, delivering products to our Gas Bars and Pubs throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, and providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of products for the Gas Bar Food Program, including sandwiches, baked goods, popcorn, confectionary, and flavored peanuts.
  • Deliver products to our Gas Bars and Pubs throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our guests, including answering questions, making recommendations, and responding to requests.
  • Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
  • Prepare special orders and party trays.
  • Update displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
  • Ensure that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
  • Cooperate with others to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • 1-2 years of Deli, Kitchen, and/or Food Prep experience is an asset.
  • Must be comfortable with driving a delivery van throughout the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley.
  • Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs., and operate equipment, such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, cash registers, etc.
  • Excellent guest service, communication, and math skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
  • A courteous and efficient approach to handling guest requests, questions, and complaints.
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have open availability to work a variety of shifts, 7 days a week from 4:00am-9:00pm. Weekend availability is a must.
  • This position is based at the Parallel Food Store, though it may require on occasion to travel and work at other locations as business needs require.
