We operate three food and pharmacy stores, thirty-one Angry Otter liquor stores, two feed mills, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Angry Otter Tap & Forno and Brewery in North Vancouver, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, the Highwayman pub in South Surrey, and twenty-five gas station/convenience stores.
Job Summary
We're seeking a Part-Time Fresh N Good Associate to assist with our Fresh N Good Food Program based out of our Parallel Food Store located in Abbotsford, BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of a wide variety of products for the Gas Bar Food Program, including sandwiches, baked goods, popcorn, confectionary, flavored peanuts, and more.
- Deliver products to our Gas Bars and Pubs throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
- Provide responsive, exceptional service to guests at the Deli and treat counters by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
- Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
- Prepare special orders and party trays.
- Update displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
- Ensure that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
- Cooperate with others to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
Requirements
- Must have a Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 1-2 years of Deli, Kitchen, and/or Food Prep experience is an asset.
- Must be comfortable with driving a delivery van throughout the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley.
- Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs., and operate equipment, such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, cash registers, etc.
- Excellent guest service, communication, and math skills.
- Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
- A courteous and efficient approach to handling guest requests, questions, and complaints.
- Must be committed to a SAFE working environment.
- The ideal candidate will have open availability to work a variety of shifts, 7 days a week from 4:00am-9:00pm. Weekend availability is a must.
- This position is based at the Parallel Food Store, though it may require on occasion to travel and work at other locations as business needs require.
