Casual Library Technician Job Description

We are seeking a Casual Library Technician to join our team at the Ottawa Catholic School Board. As a Casual Library Technician, you will be responsible for operating the school library and providing information services to staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the school library and provide information services to staff and students
  • Promote authors, books, and special events
  • Perform administrative functions associated with the library and/or school
  • Coordinate volunteers' activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma required
  • Two-year Community College diploma in Library Technician or equivalent
  • Two to three years of related experience
  • Expertise with Destiny, L4U, computer hardware and software, and various AV equipment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work on call during regular school hours
  • May require the use of a personal vehicle
