Casual Library Technician Job Description

We are seeking a Casual Library Technician to join our team at the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

Job Summary:

The Casual Library Technician will operate the school library and information services to meet the needs of staff and students. This includes promoting authors, books, and special events, performing administrative functions, coordinating volunteers' activities, and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the school library and information services to meet the needs of staff and students
  • Promote authors, books, and special events
  • Perform administrative functions associated with the library and/or school
  • Coordinate volunteers' activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Completed secondary school
  • Two-year Community College diploma (i.e. Library Technician diploma, etc...)
  • Two to three years related experience
  • Expertise with Destiny, L4U, computer hardware and software, and various AV equipment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Working Conditions:

Casual Library Technicians must be available to work on call during regular school hours.

Salary:

Hourly wage of $31.64 plus 4% in lieu of vacation
