Casual Library Technician Job Description

We are seeking a Casual Library Technician to join our team at the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

Job Summary:

The Casual Library Technician will be responsible for operating the school library and information services to meet the needs of staff and students. This includes promoting authors, books, and special events, as well as performing administrative functions associated with the library and/or school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the school library and information services to meet the needs of staff and students
  • Promote authors, books, and special events
  • Perform administrative functions associated with the library and/or school
  • Coordinate volunteers' activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have completed secondary school and have a two-year Community College diploma in Library Technician or a related field. They will also have two to three years of related experience and expertise with Destiny, L4U, computer hardware and software, and various AV equipment.

Working Conditions:

The Casual Library Technician must be available to work on call during regular school hours and may be required to use a personal vehicle.

Salary:

The hourly wage for this position is $31.64, plus 4% in lieu of vacation.
