We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) in the Perioperative Services department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and nursing practice activities within the framework of quality management and in accordance with the University Hospital of Northern BC mission statement.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices, technologies, and research to provide evidence-based care and promote best practices within the department.
- Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Post-graduate courses (within the last five years) appropriate to service assignment or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to promote safe, competent, patient care.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to communicate, and maintain good public relations with family and friends of patients.
- Ability to recognize and intervene appropriately in an emergency situation.
- Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
