About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Safety Specialist to join our team at BC Hydro. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create and maintain comprehensive safety programs to prevent injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Provide Training and Support: Deliver training sessions and provide guidance to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with employees, contractors, and external partners to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is required.
  • Certifications: Possession of a valid Occupational Health and Safety Certificate is an asset.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety-related role is required.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
