Job Title: Technical Service Manager

FMC Corporation is a leading global agricultural sciences company dedicated to delivering innovative crop protection solutions that help growers produce food, feed, fiber, and fuel for a growing world population. As a Technical Service Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting our sales team and customers by providing technical expertise and guidance on our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of commercial and new chemistries impacting the business
  • Build and maintain relationships with key influencers, such as independent agronomists, retail agronomists, and research agronomists, to ensure they are prepared to recommend FMC products
  • Develop and execute support activities aligned with key initiatives and goals
  • Work with Product Development teams to ensure testing programs are aligned with market trends and that the Technical Service Manager is well-educated regarding development projects
  • Manage technical expenses, service to sales dollars, and product demo budget consistent with regional initiatives
  • Provide technical product training and guidance on complaint handling
  • Develop and implement influence plans aligned with regional sales and marketing objectives
  • Develop training modules and lead technical consulting and training to internal and external groups
  • Provide necessary proof of validation for label updates or amendments and assist the regulatory department
  • Produce sales tools, such as newsletters and recommendation sheets
  • Review and approve technical, sales, marketing, and advertising communications
Requirements:
  • BS in Agricultural Science or related field, plus 3 years' experience in technical support and selling chemical crop protection
  • MSc in Agricultural Science or related field, 1 year experience in technical support and development of agricultural products
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years' experience in technical support, selling chemical crop protection, seed, or agronomy services
  • Certified Crop Advisor or equivalent certification required or obtained within the first 12 months of employment
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and computer skills
  • Ability to design protocols and research projects that demonstrate the features and benefits of agronomy inputs
  • Proven ability to transfer complex information to an audience with limited technical expertise
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure and resolve conflict
  • Ability to build and sustain strong business relationships with customers and teammates
