CNIB Foundation is a leading Canadian charity that empowers people with low vision to live their lives to the fullest. We are seeking a skilled Program Lead, Vision Mate to join our team in Regina, SK.

About the Role

We offer a competitive salary of $25-$31 per hour, depending on experience. As a Program Lead, Vision Mate, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of volunteers to deliver vision mate services to seniors aged 55 and older. You will develop and implement operational standards to ensure policies, procedures, and practices respond to changing conditions in the marketplace and improve efficiency and competency.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and engage an integrated team of volunteers to deliver vision mate services.
  • Develop and implement operational standards to ensure policies, procedures, and practices respond to changing conditions in the marketplace and improve efficiency and competency.
  • Develop implementation plans to maximize the success of CNIB's Vision Mate and Vision Mate programs in local markets.
  • Lead and manage outcome evaluation processes for the program in the region, using a national framework to meet goals of the Aging Well At Home funding agreement.
  • Constantly seek opportunities to improve service delivery metrics and participant outcomes, leveraging available evaluation data for the region.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and new developments in programming for people who are blind, and proactively bring forward ideas on how to improve this work.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with program participants, and seek insight into their unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Volunteer Management).
  • 5+ years' experience working and managing volunteers to deliver programming.
  • A track record of successful people management encompassing leading, managing, and motivating teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to plan and deliver clear communications to a dispersed audience.
  • Connections to leadership groups/organizations in the region.
  • Working knowledge of national volunteer organizations with a branch, region, and/or membership-based structure.
  • Effectively demonstrate understanding and championing of diversity and accessibility issues.
  • Experience in developing service delivery models.
  • Experience in delivering training workshops and devising and delivering presentations.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Good relationship/team builder and networking skills with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-definition, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven time management, planning, coordinating, and organization skills; proactive in initiating multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Professional attitude, results-oriented, strategic, and flexible.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
