**Job Overview**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Deafblind Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Specialist, Intervenor, you will play a vital role in facilitating the interaction between individuals who are Deafblind and their environment, promoting their independence and social connection.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to individuals who are Deafblind in their homes or communities
  • Facilitate access to information, enabling individuals to gather knowledge, learn concepts, and make informed decisions
  • Offer sighted guide and environmental information to enhance the individual's understanding of their surroundings
  • Collaborate with individuals to determine their level of support and empower them to actively participate in their community

**Requirements**

  • Knowledge of theories and principles of intervention, Deafblindness, Deaf/Deafblind culture, and associated health concerns
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivation, flexibility, and the ability to multi-task, with a strong desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others
  • Diploma or degree in a human services field, or related experience working with individuals who are Deafblind
