Global Steel Trading is a leading global steel trading company with a strong presence in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team and contribute to our continued growth and success.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to manage sales operations for assigned customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the steel industry, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market and sell steel products to assigned customers, developing and maintaining strong relationships to drive sales growth and expansion of product range.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, conducting market research and analysis to inform sales strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and implement sales initiatives, ensuring maximum penetration of target markets.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing guidance on steel products and services.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding quality, specifications, tolerances, and delivered condition of products.
- Oversee and resolve distribution and logistics issues to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Review and ensure compliance with import/export regulations, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Monitor customer credit limits and manage inventory levels, ensuring timely payment and receipt of invoices.
Requirements:
- College degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, marketing, economics).
- 3+ years of experience in international trading business in the steel industry.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of steel products, metal markets, and sourcing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills to effectively handle multiple projects and customers.
- Leadership skills to work with office personnel and supporting companies.
