Skilled Trades Labourer

We are a leading manufacturer of oil and gas equipment, seeking a skilled trades labourer to join our team at our Nisku facility.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing OCTG for threading, operating various tools and equipment, and ensuring the customer and threading licensors' requirements are met. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate horizontal/vertical saws, MRE swage units, coil induction stress relievers, phosphate application tanks, coupling torque machines, overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, sand blast cabinets, Techno stamping machines, and various hand tools
- Apply hazardous chemicals as required by WHIMIS standards, including paint, thread compounds, zinc and manganese phosphate
- Follow Argus Standard Operating Procedures
- Read and carry out work instructions detailed on Production Orders
- Measure casing lengths and OD/ID dimensions to close tolerances, using metric and imperial scales
- Provide general shop and yard labour as required
- Identify process improvements that will benefit workflow and assist with implementation of approved improvements
- Clean and maintain the work area and equipment used daily
Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma with Grade 12 math or equivalent
- Machine shop experience is an asset
- A forklift ticket is an asset
- Ability to use measuring equipment
- General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry
- General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles
