Construction Estimator Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Melloy Industrial Services Inc. As an experienced professional in construction cost estimating, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality estimates and contributing to the company's growth.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate Development: Perform quantity, material, and labor takeoff from drawings, specifications, and related documents. Compile large spreadsheets and databases of bill of quantity data to support estimate development.
- Client Document Review: Read and comprehend client documents, including a detailed understanding of multi-discipline scopes. Review quantity survey assignments with lead estimators or chief estimators.
- Pricing and Procurement: Apply productivity and material units and allowances to estimates. Assist in developing work plans, crane pick plans, indirect support, etc. Solicit pricing from trade contractors and suppliers under supervision.
- Documentation and Organization: Document all information relating to estimates and archive and organize such information to transfer to project teams upon successful award.
- Education: Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
- Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, with 6 months of on-site experience preferred. Knowledge of the construction industry and on-site experience or exposure to construction (hands-on or trade experience) is desired.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work in a busy team environment. Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of estimating software, advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite, and a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
