About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Melloy Industrial Services Inc.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position responsible for performing quantity, material, and labor takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and related documents. The successful candidate will also assist with bid document control, including addenda in set of working drawings, RFIs, and distributing information to the estimating team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bid Preparation: Perform quantity, material, and labor takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and related documents.
  • Bid Document Control: Assist with bid document control, including addenda in set of working drawings, RFIs, and distributing information to the estimating team.
  • Estimating: Apply material unit prices or adding material allowances to the estimate.
  • Bid-Day Assignments: Perform bid-day assignments as per lead estimator.
  • Pricing Solicitation: Solicit pricing from trade contractors and suppliers under supervision of lead estimator.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postsecondary diploma or degree in a related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
  • Some co-op or relevant experience in a construction environment preferred.
  • BASIC knowledge of the construction industry; on-site experience or exposure to construction (hands-on or trade experience) preferred.
  • Ability to work in a busy team environment.
  • Resourceful and self-motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding relationship management with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key partners and decision makers.
  • Attention to detail and the ability creatively solve problems.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
