Job Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Clinical Psychologist in our Specialized Services department.


The ideal candidate will have expertise in therapeutic, diagnostic and consultation services in mental health and addiction services.


The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychological services to clients, including assessments, therapy and treatment planning.


The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.


Key Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be responsible for:



  • Providing psychological services to clients, including assessments, therapy and treatment planning;
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care;
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans that are tailored to the individual needs of clients;
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records;
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of policies and procedures;

Requirements


To be considered for this position, applicants must have:



  • A Master's degree or PhD in Clinical Psychology from a recognized university;
  • Two (2) years recent related experience in therapeutic, diagnostic and consultation services in the designated scope of practice areas of mental health and addiction services;
  • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia or registration with the College within one year employment;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, families, team members, other groups and community agency personnel;
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, leader and facilitator;
  • Knowledge of the principles of recovery in mental illness;
  • Knowledge of psychological assessment, including semi-structured diagnostic assessment;
  • Knowledge of therapeutic, diagnostic and consultation techniques;
  • Knowledge of treatment, assessment and management of anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and psychological trauma;
  • Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized client care information system and word processing, spreadsheet, internet and e-mail software.
