Security Telecommunications Specialist

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Security and Emergency Telecommunications Operator to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for operating a state-of-the-art healthcare security and emergency control center, utilizing advanced life safety, security, and telecommunication systems.
Key Responsibilities• Operate radio, telephone, and other telecommunications equipment to receive and relay information to security services staff.
• Prioritize and assign emergency and non-emergency service calls to frontline security staff, coordinating with Security Team Leaders in stressful situations.
• Maintain logs and records of all activity in the dispatch and mobile records management system.
• Provide information to internal healthcare staff, municipal emergency services, and other agencies as required.
• Answer emergency calls, non-emergency calls, and incoming administrative lines, providing security-related instructions to callers.
• Act as a front-line representative of Halton Healthcare Security and Parking, providing excellent customer service.
Requirements• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Post-secondary college certificate or diploma in Emergency Telecommunications, or a combination of education in a related field and experience.
• Excellent spoken English oral and written communications skills and clear speaking voice.
• Mental Health First Aid Certificate issued by a recognized provider, to be completed within 3 months of hire.
• Emergency Management Ontario IMS 100, completed within 3 months of hire.
• Experience working in an organization with advanced life safety, security, and telecommunication systems, with a centralized dispatch environment.
