Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Security and Emergency Telecommunications Operator to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for operating a state-of-the-art healthcare security and emergency control center, utilizing advanced life safety, security, and telecommunication systems in a centralized dispatch environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate radio, telephone, and other telecommunications equipment to receive and relay information to security services staff
• Prioritize and assign emergency and non-emergency service calls to frontline security staff and coordinate with Security Team Leaders
• Maintain logs and records of all activity as required in the dispatch and mobile records management system
• Provide information to internal healthcare staff, municipal emergency services, and other agencies as required
• Answer emergency calls, non-emergency calls, incoming administrative lines, and provide security-related instructions to callers
• Act as a front-line representative of Halton Healthcare Security and Parking, providing excellent customer service

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Post-secondary college certificate or diploma in Emergency Telecommunications, or a combination of education in a related field and experience
• Excellent spoken English oral and written communications skills and clear speaking voice
• Mental Health First Aid Certificate issued by a recognized provider (to be completed within 3 months of hire)
• Emergency Management Ontario IMS 100 completed within 3 months of hire
• Previous experience working in an organization with advanced life safety, security, and telecommunication systems in a centralized dispatch environment
