About the Role

Azran Lawyers, a leading law firm in Old Montreal, is seeking a skilled Contract and Obligations Lawyer to join its dynamic legal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: Develop and review various types of contracts, including commercial contracts, partnership agreements, and service agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and protecting the interests of clients.
  • Legal Advice: Provide expert legal advice on contractual obligations and the legal risks associated with entering into contracts, clearly explaining the implications to clients and helping them make informed decisions.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate the terms of contracts with opposing parties to obtain agreements favorable to clients, demonstrating tact and diplomacy while standing firm in the interests of clients.
  • Management of Contractual Disputes: Intervene in contractual disputes, developing legal strategies to resolve disputes and representing clients in court when necessary.
  • Case Management: Ensure the complete management of client files related to contracts and obligations, ensuring that all documents are properly organized and ready for negotiations or hearings.
  • Communication with Clients: Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of the progress of their files and answering their questions with clarity and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract and obligations law.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex contracts and identify potential risks, offering tailored solutions to protect clients' interests.
  • Personal Qualities: Rigor, sense of organization, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure, with excellent negotiating skills and the ability to collaborate with other team members.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in technological tools for case management and legal research.
