About the Role

Clyde & Co is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Management Lawyer to join our team in North America. As a key member of our insurance litigation team, you will be responsible for managing litigation matters on behalf of our insurer clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent our insurer clients in the management of litigation matters in North America, including Quebec, Canada, and the United States.
  • Review and analyze litigation matters, providing strategic advice to our insurer clients on risks and defense strategies.
  • Recommend and appoint defense lawyers to act on behalf of our clients, providing clear directives and instructions.
  • Work closely with defense lawyers, coordinating and managing information received from them and our clients.
  • Maintain strong relationships with our insurer clients, providing regular updates and advice.
  • Participate in mediation sessions as an insurer representative, advocating for our clients' interests.
  • Review and analyze coverage under various policies, advising insurer clients on their rights and obligations.
  • Investigate and resolve coverage disputes, including acting as attorney of record for our insurer clients.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Member in good standing of a Canadian Bar Association.
  • Diploma in common law and/or civil law.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in private practice or in-house, specifically in litigation or litigation management in Quebec, Canada, and/or elsewhere.
  • Bilingualism at a fluent level, in French and English, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality written reports in English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and lawyers.
  • Strong sense of rigour and attention to detail, with the ability to develop strategies and present clear plans to clients.
  • Negotiating and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to advocate for clients' interests.
