Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join our team at Velan Inc. as a Legal Counsel. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Legal Affairs, you will play a key role in advising, drafting, and negotiating various commercial contracts, including sales and supply contracts, confidentiality agreements, terms & conditions, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and assist in the development of business strategies and policies related to commercial law.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales and supply contracts, confidentiality agreements, and terms & conditions.
- Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Handle daily legal issues, claims, or litigation management, import/export and compliance issues, as well as corporate law.
- Collaborate with external lawyers in relevant jurisdictions to manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio.
Requirements
- Member of a Canadian provincial bar.
- Bilingual (English and French).
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial law.
