Job Title: Bicycle Repair Shop Supervisor

Vélo iBike is seeking a skilled and experienced Bicycle Repair Shop Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bicycle repair shop, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our shop runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train a team of bicycle repair technicians to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality repairs and services.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the shop, including scheduling, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Estimate costs and materials for repairs and services, and ensure that all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, and that the shop is maintained in a clean and safe environment.
  • Recommend personnel actions, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Lead and instruct individuals to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a bicycle repair shop or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of bicycle repair and maintenance techniques, and ability to train others in these skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Work in a shop environment with exposure to dust, grease, and other chemicals.
  • Work in a team environment with frequent communication and collaboration with colleagues.

  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Reliable and able to work independently.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.

Experience:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bicycle repair shop or similar environment.
  • Permanent position with 35 hours per week.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
