Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our team as the Associate Vice-President, Student Support and Accountability Academic Affairs.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, developing strategic plans, and implementing effective policies and services that support student success and well-being.

About the Role

The Associate Vice-President will lead a team of over 40 staff members in the areas of Student Wellness Services, the Exam Centre, Student Conduct and Academic Integrity, Access and Disability Resources, and Wellness and Psychological Services.

This key leadership position plays a critical role in shaping the student experience at MacEwan University, ensuring that our students receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development, organization, and administration of student support policies and services
  • Oversee the effective communication between student support areas and the broader University community
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student inclusion, accessibility, and disability resources
  • Ensure appropriate policies and frameworks are in place to assess, support, and resolve student behavioural and academic conduct

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in higher education or a related field
  • Proven expertise in leading high-performing teams and developing strategic plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff
  • A deep understanding of student support services and the importance of inclusivity and accessibility
