As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a vital role in supporting our Community Leadership Teams and staff by providing HR support and advice for all Human Resource programs and operational inquiries.

The Opportunity

This position requires a skilled HR professional who can represent and align the operational HR needs with the corporate objectives. You will be responsible for supporting change management through coaching and advocacy for an assigned portfolio, providing effective issue resolution, creating leadership capacity as a human resource educator and advisor, managing risk by assessing workforce metrics and trends, and supporting and mentoring site management and staff in employee engagement programs, HR policy and operational standards, employee and labor relations, workforce planning, and HR administration.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support change management through coaching and advocacy for an assigned portfolio
  2. Provide effective issue resolution with the engagement of expert internal resources as required
  3. Create leadership capacity as a human resource educator and advisor to management and staff
  4. Manage risk by assessing workforce metrics and trends
  5. Support and mentor site management and staff in employee engagement programs, HR policy and operational standards, employee and labor relations, workforce planning, and HR administration

Requirements

  1. Minimum 3 years experience in a well-rounded HR generalist role
  2. Experience working with offsite management and staff preferred
  3. Experience in Long Term Care / Assisted Living an asset
  4. Labour Relations (union) experience preferred
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of employment and related legislation
  6. Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources or other relevant program preferred
  7. Vulnerable Sector Check required
  8. Valid Class 5 driver license for regular travel within Vancouver Mainland AgeCare (4) sites
