Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Expert to join our team at Quanteam - North America. This is a 3-month contract (renewable) opportunity to work with an investment bank in Montreal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the AMER risk Model, a core system that underpins inventory tracking and model governance across the region.

This role demands a deep understanding of the model lifecycle, including policy documentation, change management, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

The candidate will play an instrumental role in implementing policies and controls that uphold model accuracy, reliability, and suitability, ensuring they effectively support decision-making processes.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in remediation programs by delivering high-quality deliverables on time.
  • Governance and Reporting: Refining the Risk Framework by enhancing AMER model risk policies and procedures.
  • Managing Model Inventory: Collaborating with stakeholders to update the AMER Model Inventory based on updated definitions.
  • Coordinating with Validation Teams to address and agree on annual validation plans.
  • Supporting Regulatory and Audit Preparation by preparing materials for regulators and internal/external audits.
  • Collaborating on Tech Solutions by partnering with technology teams to build model inventory and workflow solutions.
  • Tracking and Reporting Issues by reviewing and monitoring remediation actions.
Requirements

The ideal candidate must have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in risk management, with a proven track record in model risk, risk metrics, model controls, and industry standards.
  • Strong experience drafting policy and procedure documentation, MIS reports, and materials for senior management, oversight forums, and regulators.
  • Demonstrated success as a trusted partner in implementing changes and fostering adoption among end-users.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

A background in consulting or audit firms, especially in managing multiple risk management projects within investment or financial sectors, is considered a plus.

The minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or a similar field. English is mandatory, while French is considered an asset.

Estimated salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
