Child and Adolescent Trauma Therapist

Waypoints Community Services Association is seeking a skilled Child and Adolescent Trauma Therapist to join our team. As a Trauma Counsellor for Children and Youth, you will provide clinical support to children and adolescents who have experienced or been exposed to traumatic events.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual, family, and group counselling to children, parents, and families affected by domestic violence and/or sexual assault and abuse.
- Deliver evidence-based treatment to children and adolescents who have experienced or been exposed to domestic and sexual violence, addressing related behavioral and mental health concerns.
- Assess, develop, and implement treatment plans, and participate in discharge planning.
- Collaborate with Second Stage Manager, Shelter Manager, and case conferencing with staff to inform and support client treatment plans.
- Act as an educational and supportive resource to staff and clients on child development and the impact of trauma on children.
- Provide culturally sensitive services.
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or related field from a recognized university.
- Current registration with a recognized professional college or association in Alberta.
- Training in evidence-based modalities for children, adolescents, and families required.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical work with children.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check required.
