About the Opportunity

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist is responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological equipment with minimal supervision. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures using ionizing radiation, adhering to the ALARA principle. Effective communication in a multidisciplinary environment is essential, fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We are seeking a qualified candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, working independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
  • Comprehension of technical language to review and use manuals and participate in relevant discussions
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent part-time position; 60 hours biweekly
  • Shift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Stand by coverage may be required
Compensation and Incentives

$30.83 - $37.54 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
