About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our team at Danfoss. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive business growth in the Western Canada region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain a sales plan for the region, meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Responsible for the region's forecasting and reports used to conduct business.
  • Grow business with End Users, Distributors, OEMs, and System Integrators.
  • Lead Account/Market plans to grow profitable business.
  • Proactively work with and manage Manufacturer Sales Representatives without your respective region.
  • Excel within a matrixed, multinational sales organization to coordinate projects that include; quoting, submitting, manufacturing, installation, and service.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities that supports exceeding target sales Quotas.
  • Become a subject matter expert for Danfoss Drives in your region and remain current as new solutions and products are released.
  • Lead and facilitate on-site customer product training.
  • Develop strong ties with key accounts and be proactive in understanding the trends and issues likely to impact the market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with variable speed drives and/or automation.
  • Ability to travel within the region with up to 60% overnight.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience demonstrating a solid track record of meeting aggressive sales objectives.
  • Experience with all facets of building and executing successful sales plans.
  • Advanced strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, with the ability to deliver presentations in both small and large group environments.
  • Ability to write reports, recommendations, proposals, and other documents for executive business management.
  • Must be able to work independently with time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications for sales management.

  • Strong technical knowledge of VFD and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Automation & Industrial Markets.
  • Extensive knowledge about the market within assigned territory.
  • Excellent business acumen.
  • Ability to gain strong total solution and product positioning knowledge.
  • Experience developing a distribution network.

Location

Ideal candidate resides in a major drives market, such as Vancouver, Edmonton, or Calgary, Alberta.
