Job Summary

The Residential Support Worker at Phoenix Society is a key member of our integrated services team. In line with our overall purpose of facilitating capacity building and community reintegration, this role is accountable for client supervision, risk assessment, and support services.

Responsibilities:
  • Support clients in adhering to community guidelines and Program Agreement conditions.
  • Maintain accurate logging and documentation for client reintegration plans.
  • Build therapeutic relationships to support clients in life skills and goals.
  • Report and document breaches of conditions, including suspected substance use, late curfews, and escalating behavior.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma in Criminology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with marginalized populations, substance use services, mental health, and corrections.
  • Ability to understand offender behavior and assess needs and risks.
  • Skills in counselling, forming effective relationships, and intervening in crisis situations.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and database management systems.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and results-orientation.

  • Job Knowledge & Quality of Work: Produces accurate, thorough, and high-quality work in a timely manner.
