Residential Support Worker

The Phoenix Society is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our integrated services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in facilitating the capacity building of participants to maximize their community reintegration and supporting residents who are transitioning out of Federal Correctional Institutions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide client supervision and monitoring to ensure adherence to community guidelines and Program Agreement conditions.
- Support clients in maintaining accurate logging and documentation as required by the Society and Corrections Service Canada.
- Build a therapeutic relationship to support clients in their life skills and goals.
- Collaborate with external partners, including Corrections Service Canada and local police, to ensure effective community building and support.
- Post-secondary diploma in Criminology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience working with marginalized populations, substance use services, mental health, corrections, or a related field.
- Ability to understand offender behavior and assess needs and risks.
- Skills in counselling, forming effective relationships, and intervening in crisis situations.
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Approach to Work: Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness.
- Job Knowledge & Quality of Work: High degree of relevant and current job knowledge and skill.
- Judgement & Decision-Making: Models independent thinking and creativity.
