About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a highly skilled Pension and Benefits Manager to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for leading the development, execution, and monitoring of total rewards programs (pension and benefits) in alignment with our company's strategies and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Total Rewards Programs: Develop and implement comprehensive total rewards programs that attract, retain, and engage top talent.
  • Manage Benefits Team: Supervise and direct a team of benefits specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of benefits programs.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, best practices, and emerging issues in total rewards and benefits.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
  • Program Design and Implementation: Design and implement programs and policies that focus on cost-effectiveness and market competitiveness.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Oversee the reporting and analytics function for pension and benefits, providing insights and recommendations to inform business decisions.
  • Leadership and Development: Supervise, direct, coach, train, and mentor a team, including direct and indirect reports.
Requirements
  • Education: Postsecondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred; 8+ years of progressive experience preferred; generalist HR experience an asset.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills, superior interpersonal and influencing skills, critical thinking skills, and advanced analytical skills.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of principles, practices, procedures related to total rewards (pension and benefits) and applicable legislation.
