The Corporation of the Town of Ajax is seeking a Part Time Youth Program Coordinator to supervise drop-in youth programs and complete administrative work related to assigned program areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise youth in the space, ensuring they meet age requirements and abide by all rules to create a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly signed out, monitored while in use, and locked up.
  • Plan and implement monthly theme nights and engaging activities.
  • Maintain effective communications with parents, public, co-workers, and the Community Recreation Coordinator.
  • Interact with youth and create a positive and supportive environment.
  • Monitor the arrival and departure of participants from programs.
  • Assist with the general maintenance of program space.
  • Promote an environment of safety and respect among participants.
  • Complete all required organizational and administrative duties in a timely manner.
  • Report all injuries or property damage to the Community Recreation Coordinator.
  • Abide by the Town of Ajax policies and act in a professional manner at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 16 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience working with a variety of ages in a recreational setting.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive, confident, and approachable.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
  • Able to provide a current Criminal Reference Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) that is satisfactory to the Town.

  • Rate of Pay: $17.99 - $19.56 per hour.
  • Hours of Work: This is a non-union position that works up to 24 hours per week.
