Job Title: Part-Time Program Leader, Youth Spaces

The Corporation of the Town of Ajax is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time Program Leader, Youth Spaces. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising drop-in youth programs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment, and completing administrative tasks related to assigned program areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise youth in the space, ensuring they meet age requirements and abide by all rules.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly signed out, monitored, and locked up.
  • Plan and implement monthly theme nights and engaging activities.
  • Maintain effective communications with parents, public, co-workers, and the Community Recreation Coordinator.
  • Interact with youth and create a positive and supportive environment.
  • Monitor participant arrival and departure.
  • Assist with general maintenance of program space.
  • Promote a safe and respectful environment among participants.
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner.
  • Report injuries or property damage to the Community Recreation Coordinator.
  • Abide by Town of Ajax policies and act professionally at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum 16 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience working with various ages in a recreational setting.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive, confident, and approachable.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
  • Able to provide a current Criminal Reference Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) that is satisfactory to the Town.
What We Offer:
  • Rate of Pay: $17.99 - $19.56 per hour.
  • Hours of Work: Up to 24 hours per week, with a minimum of 1 weekday shift and 1 weekend shift per week.
