As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising youth in our recreational spaces, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage with youth in our recreational spaces, ensuring they meet age requirements and adhere to all rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring it is properly signed out, used, and stored.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities and theme nights for our youth programs.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with parents, staff, and community members.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Monitor participant arrival and departure, ensuring a smooth and efficient program experience.
  • Assist with general maintenance of program spaces, including cleaning and litter control.
  • Promote a culture of safety and respect among participants.
  • Complete administrative tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Report any incidents or injuries to the Community Recreation Coordinator.
  • Adhere to Town of Ajax policies and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 16 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience working with youth in a recreational setting.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive, confident, and approachable.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
  • Able to provide a current Criminal Reference Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) that is satisfactory to the Town.

What We Offer:

  • Rate of Pay: $19.56 per hour.
  • Hours of Work: Up to 24 hours per week, with a minimum of 1 weekday shift and 1 weekend shift per week.
