Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at St. Paul Abilities Network. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to management and employees on all aspects of human resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures to ensure a fair and respectful work environment.
  • Coordinate the activities of the HR department to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate human resources policies and programs to drive business success.
  • Review HR projects to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs, and collective agreements.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures to promote a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Oversee the classification and rating of occupations to ensure accurate compensation and benefits.
  • Plan, develop, and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales to inform HR decisions.
  • Administer benefit employment equity and other human resources programs to support employee well-being.
  • Manage contracts and agreements to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee the analysis of employee data and information to inform HR strategy.
  • Research employee benefits and health and safety practices to recommend improvements.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to engage employees and stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Provide advice and guidance to senior management on HR-related matters.
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants to resolve conflicts and improve relationships.
  • Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
  • Proven experience in human resources generalist role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Familiarity with human resources software and technology.
