Job Description

This role will involve performing assisted installation, commissioning, and verification activities on fire alarm-related equipment.

You will also be responsible for supervising and coordinating work with electricians working on fire alarm systems.

Additional tasks include:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.
  • Completing verification reports for submittal to customers and carrying out system acceptance tests with AHJs and other interested parties.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of various product lines.
  • Identifying general deficiencies and code issues in the field during verification.
  • Traveling throughout the district business area when required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience within the fire protection industry.
  • A completion of a college diploma in Fire Protection or Electrical/Electronic or equivalent experience.
  • A Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification or equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable of provincial building & fire codes for inspection purposes.
  • The ability to express clear technical solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service focus.
