Fire Alarm System Specialist

As a Fire Alarm Technician at ACAI, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our customers' properties.
- Installation and Commissioning: Perform assisted installation, commissioning, and verification activities on Fire Alarm related equipment, including connection of devices and circuits.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and coordinate work with electricians working on Fire Alarm systems.
- Verification Reports: Complete verification reports for submittal to customers and carry out system acceptance tests with AHJ's and other interested parties.
- As-Built Drawings: Complete As Built drawings on the completion of the job.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain up to date knowledge of various product lines.
- Deficiency Identification: Identify general deficiencies and code issues in the field during verification.
- Travel Requirements: Travel throughout the District business area when required.
- Programming Modifications: Conduct small programming modifications to an existing system with supervision.
- Employee Training: Assist in developing employee training programs for employees and customers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience within the Fire Protection industry.
- Education and Certification: Completion of a college diploma in Fire Protection or Electrical/Electronic or equivalent experience and CFAA certification or equivalent.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledgeable of provincial building & fire codes for inspection purposes and proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft excel, word, and Windows operating systems.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and customer service focus.
