The Director of People and Culture will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Thorek/Scott and Partners, a leading recruitment firm in Toronto. This individual will be responsible for developing and leading the People and Culture strategy, aligning with the organization's goals, mission, and values.
This strategic leader will oversee the management of people programs and function areas, taking a holistic view to understand industry trends and challenges, and zooming into details to resolve complex issues.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive People and Culture strategy, driving measurable results and aligning with business objectives
- Design and oversee the execution of employee development programs, enhancing skills and career progression
- Analyze workforce data to inform talent management initiatives and make data-driven decisions
- Develop recognition programs to celebrate employee achievements and contributions
- Manage conflict resolution processes and ensure a fair and timely resolution
- Oversee the firm's compensation programs, ensuring they are competitive, sustainable, and aligned with the firm's culture
- Develop and promote the firm's Employee Value Proposition internally and externally
- Lead the development of diversity and inclusion programming and ensure its integration into all aspects of the firm's operations
- Develop existing performance management programs and implement a continuous feedback system
- Lead the development and revision of the firm's policies to ensure they are clear and in line with legal requirements and best practices
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in People and Culture/HR, preferably within the AEC industry
- University bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources Management
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL)
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic People and Culture projects, leveraging change management best practices
- Expertise in leveraging data and analytics to drive research-backed decision-making and measurement of the effectiveness of people initiatives
- Exceptional communication, impact, and influence skills, with the ability to articulate and champion organizational values and culture across all levels of the firm
- Self-starter with the ability to manage projects and break down complex processes to execute work efficiently
- Technical expertise with Microsoft 365, Payroll software, Benefits Management Platforms, and HR Technology
