We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our Acute Rehabilitation Team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert occupational therapy services to children and youth with complex medical conditions, promoting their independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement innovative occupational therapy programs and interventions to enhance patient participation and engagement.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy and licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.
- Two years of recent related experience, including one year in pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- 50 hours of postgraduate coursework or training in additional procedures, techniques, and job functions for assigned area.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in groups, one-on-one, and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, motivator, and facilitator.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop educational programs and materials.
- Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Demonstrated ability to critically appraise research evidence.
