UI/UX Lead Job Description

At Turbulent, we're seeking a highly skilled UI/UX Lead to join our team and help shape the user experience of our flagship projects, including Star Citizen and Squadron 42. As a UI/UX Lead, you'll be responsible for leading a team of talented UI Artists and UX Designers, working closely with them to deliver high-quality UI/UX solutions that meet the needs of our players.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of UI Artists and UX Designers to create innovative and engaging user experiences
  • Collaborate with Game Design and Game Art teams to ensure UI/UX solutions align with game design principles
  • Develop and implement UI/UX design concepts, working closely with the UI Director to ensure creative vision is translated into the game
  • Mentor and supervise junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow professionally
  • Work closely with the producer and project managers to identify project needs and establish a visual style and work process that fits within the production schedule
Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of experience as a UI/UX designer or other relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of user-centered principles and techniques
  • Experience with Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects) and prototyping tools
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, and mentoring skills
  • Efficient presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present and explain strategies and design choices to a diverse audience
  • Knowledge of project management software (e.g. Jira), agile and lean methods, and game design principles
