About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead UI&UX Designer to join our team at Turbulent. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of user interface and user experience (UI&UX) design for our flagship project, Star Citizen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our Game Design and Game Art teams to create innovative and engaging user experiences for players.
  • Develop and implement UI concepts that align with our game's visual style and functionality.
  • Work closely with the UI Director to ensure that the creative vision is translated into the game.
  • Lead and mentor a team of UI Artists and UX Designers to deliver high-quality UI design solutions.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient work process within the team, ensuring that all team members have the necessary information and resources to work effectively.
  • Collaborate with interdependent teams to ensure consistent communication and uniform consistency.
  • Oversee the team's work, ensuring that progress is made, standards are respected, deadlines are met, and quality is up to standards.
  • Allocate tasks to team members based on availability and abilities.
  • Raise issues that have a direct impact on production and propose solutions or alternatives.
Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience as a UI/UX designer or other relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of user-centered principles and techniques.
  • Experience with Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffect) and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD).
  • Creative, collaborative, empathetic, and innovative spirit.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, and mentoring skills.
  • Efficient presentation skills.
  • Curiosity, open-mindedness, and flexibility.
  • A passion for solving complex problems with design solutions.
  • Knowledge of project management software (e.g. Jira), agile and lean methods, and game design principles.
