UI/UX Lead

CIG Turbulent is a pioneering game development studio, pushing the boundaries of immersive experiences in the Star Citizen universe. As a UI/UX Lead, you will be part of a talented team dedicated to crafting innovative and engaging experiences for players worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Game Design and Art teams to create a seamless player experience.
  • Develop visually stunning UI concepts that harmonize with game and environment screens.
  • Implement content in the game engine using our in-house development tools.
  • Mentor junior UI artists and team members, promoting their professional growth.
  • Evaluate project scope plans, identifying timelines, risks, and opportunities.
  • Work closely with game designers and art directors to define visual guidelines, progress, and artistic vision.
  • Supervise team members in developing UI/UX deliverables, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with interdependent teams, including audio, art, animation, and storytelling.
  • Oversee team progress, ensuring deadlines are met, and quality standards are respected.
  • Allocate tasks to team members based on availability and abilities.
  • Raise critical production issues and propose solutions or alternatives.
  • Mentor and manage a team of talented UI Artists and UX Designers, ensuring high-quality UI delivery.
  • Work with the producer and project managers to establish a visual style and work process that fits within the production schedule.
  • Establish and maintain an efficient work process within the team.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary information and materials to work efficiently.
  • Motivate, coach, and support the UI design team, focusing on training and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the UI Director to ensure their creative vision is translated into the game.
Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of experience as a UI/UX designer or relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of user-centered principles and techniques.
  • Experience with Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects) and prototyping tools.
  • Creative, collaborative, empathetic, and innovative spirit.
  • Master of industry-standard graphic design skills and tools knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, and mentoring skills.
  • Efficient presentation skills, able to effectively present strategies and design choices to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of project management software (e.g., Jira), agile and lean methods, and game design principles.
