CIG Turbulent is a pioneering game development studio at the forefront of innovation, crafting immersive experiences for the Star Citizen universe. Located in Montreal, our talented team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

We're seeking a visionary UI/UX Lead to join our team, collaborating closely with Game Design and Game Art teams to create an unparalleled player experience. As a key member of our UI/UX team, you'll be responsible for developing stunning, scientifically accurate UI concepts that seamlessly integrate with game and environment screens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Game Design and Game Art teams to create innovative experiences for players.
  • Develop beautiful, scientifically accurate UI concepts that work with game and environment screens.
  • Implement content in the game engine using our in-house development tools.
  • Mentor junior UI artists and other team members, assisting in their professional development.
  • Collaborate with the UI, UX team to evaluate project scope plans, timelines, and risks.
  • Discuss visual guideline points with game designers and art directors, brainstorming ideas and reinforcing artistic and user vision.
  • Supervise the development of UI/UX deliverables, including customer journey maps and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Collaborate with interdependent teams, including audio, art, animation, storytelling, and monetization.
  • Oversee the team's work, ensuring progress, standards, deadlines, and quality are met.
  • Mentor, supervise, and manage a team of talented UI Artists and UX Designers.
  • Work closely with the UI Director to ensure their creative vision is translated into the game.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience as a UI/UX designer or relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of user-centered principles and techniques.
  • Experience with Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects) and prototyping tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, and mentoring skills.
  • Efficient presentation skills, able to effectively present and explain strategies and design choices to a diverse audience.
  • Knowledge of project management software (e.g., Jira), agile and lean methods, and game design principles.
