We are seeking a highly qualified Communications Instructor to join our team at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology.

Our core programming includes continuing education, online and blended learning opportunities, catering to students within Alberta and beyond. We focus on agriculture, agrifood, horticulture, land and environmental stewardship, and we're proud to be Canada's Smart Agriculture College.
The Opportunity
This position involves teaching discipline areas where the instructor has specific training and competence. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering instruction, as well as evaluating learner progress. Administrative duties, liaising with industry representatives, and collaboration with other College departments are also part of this role.
Key Job Functions:- Plan and prepare instructional materials, including program development
- Delivery of instruction, addressing various learning styles and needs
- Evaluate and report on student progress
- Collaborate with other College departments to facilitate learner success
- Create an inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation
- Be accessible to students outside the classroom, providing counseling and mentoring services
- Liaise with industry, government, and community representatives as required
- Monitor classroom supplies and tools inventory
- Perform tasks to support student success, including monitoring student performance and behavior
- Learn and use technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need an undergraduate degree in communications and/or English, with a preference for those holding a Master's degree. Demonstrated ability to engage learners by relating communications to their industry is essential. Recent experience in teaching writing proficiency and communications is desired.
Compensation Package: We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000-$80,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This figure reflects the estimated salary based on the location and job requirements.
