Job Summary

Dalhousie University, under the leadership of the Vice-President Research & Innovation, administers over $250M annually in research and innovation funding. As part of Dal Innovates, the Collide Launch Manager plays a pivotal role in managing programming opportunities for students and faculty at Dalhousie University to explore and experience innovation and entrepreneurship. The Manager oversees Launch, a 12-week virtual summer accelerator program, and develops innovative and entrepreneurial skills in founders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides program management for Launch and Collide programming, including planning, design, and delivery of programs.
  • Works closely with other program site stakeholders, faculties across Dalhousie, and other Atlantic Canadian institutions to ensure effective design, communication, and engagement for all events programming.
  • Develops and manages a recruitment strategy to increase program participation.
  • Leads engagement of key stakeholder groups through individual outreach and events.
  • Develops and manages program budgets in collaboration with Associate Director and Finance Manager for Dal Innovates.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business or a technical field, plus three to five years of experience in business and project management.
  • A high degree of organizational skill, interpersonal acumen, and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, enthusiasm for working with and encouraging students.
  • Demonstrated experience in program planning, design, and delivery of programming content.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of program recruitment strategies.

Assets

  • Experience in innovation/entrepreneurship programs, project management, venture management at an incubator, accelerator, or start-up.
